What You Need To Know
The US Senate has endorsed a one-year
extension to the requirement for travellers under the Visa
Waiver Programme to hold biometric passports.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and UK Passport Service
(UKPS) welcome this decision, which will now enable British
travellers with valid machine-readable passports issued before
the new deadline to travel to the US under the Visa Waiver
Programme up to, and beyond, October 2005.
Notes:
1. Last year, the US extended until 26 October 2004 its requirement
for all British visitors, including children, travelling to
the US under the Visa Waiver Programme to hold a valid machine-readable
passport. This deadline will not be changed by the latest
decision in Congress.
2. A British passport is machine-readable when there are two
lines of letters, numbers and chevrons (“>>>>”)
printed at the bottom of the personal information page (page
with photograph and personal details). The text will be on
a white strip on older machine-readable passports and directly
on the pink page of newer passports. If there are no lines
of text, the passport is not machine-readable.
3. Biometrics are unique personal features which help identify
the passport holder (the three most common are face, finger
and iris).
WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE AND WHEN'S THE BEST TIME TO VISIT?
We're asked a lot about the weather
in Florida!
We're also asked when is the best time to visit!
Florida has a tropical climate which means that all year around
it's usually warmer and more sunny there than in most other
places...
Even in the winter, the temperatures are generally pleasantly
warm and it's still sunny!
Theme parks are busy in peak season when airfares and home
rental prices are also more expensive.
Peak season is Easter, July, August, October & Christmas/New
Year
Florida is generally busy in February for Presidents' Day,
March for spring break and in November for Thanksgiving
If you want to take advantage of lower airfares, home rental
prices and less busy times in the theme parks, then January,
February, May, June, September or early November or December
are good months to book.

WILL WE NEED
POOL HEATING?
Pool heating is available at additional
cost and is recommended for stays between November and April
Pool heating can be ordered at any time of the year, to your
choice
Swimming pool depths range from about 3' to 5' and the jacuzzis
are approximately 3'6" deep
Whilst both a pool and jacuzzi can provide great fun, water
can be dangerous for unsupervised infants and children and
they should never be left alone with access to the pool area.
